Every business strives for 3 things – Business Prosperity, Harmony and Personal Well-Being.

Business ProsperityOften, the business is the family’s economic engine and supports those working in the business as well as other family members.  Maintaining business prosperity through business cycles and business stages is critical and requires effective owners, leaders and managers.

Harmony When families are in conflict, attention is diverted from the ongoing challenges of running the company.  Not to mention that it is just not fun.  There are tremendous benefits for working on communication and conflict resolution.  Keeping family members happy creates a favorable work environment for all employees and helps retain key talent from leaving the business.

Personal Well-BeingFamily members often end up in roles that are not best suited for their talents and passions.  In the long run, this can create individuals who are unhappy or less than productive or both.  If any member of the family feels that their personal well-being is being ignored, then that person will act defensively and produce what appears to others as irrational behavior.  It becomes important to align each family member’s role with their interests.
